When the health conditions permit, the Lyceum organizes and hosts several events, giving the members and friends of the Lyceum the opportunity to meet during the year, such as the cutting of the new year’s eve cake (Vasilopita), women’s day, mother’s day, celebration of the Kledon, Tripotiganitis and Christmas. Book presentations are also organized.
The ancestral custom of Saint Andrew, the Tripotiganitis, is revived on November 30 (when the conditions permit), in the welcoming hall of Chania Lyceum Club of Greek Women with loukoumades and pancakes as according to the tradition, “the pan will crack if we don’t make pancakes with the oil of the new harvest”, in order to praise Saint Andrew and pray for the fruitfulness of the earth. It is certainly an opportunity to meet the members and friends of our Lyceum.
