The Lyceum Club of Greek Women – Branch of Chania, in collaboration with the Manufacturing & Automation Design Laboratory of the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, has received funding from the Ministry of Culture and Sports for the implementation of the project: Integrated Digital Documentation and Highlighting of 20th Century Collections: “Urban Household of Chania” and “Weaving and designs of Florentini Kaloutsi” in the context of which the present website was created (Oct 2021 – Apr 2022).
Manolis Maravelakis, Nikolaos Bolanakis, Dimitris Galanakis, Polynikis Stioukis, Myrto Kontomitakis, Art Historian – Museologist associate of the Lyceum and Melpo Skoulas, responsible for the project, Tatiana Kourakis, Anna Makrakis from the Hellenic High School of Chania worked on this project. – Karela, Anna Koundouraki-Xylaki and Roula Gavalaki.
Chania Lyceum Club of Greek Women participated in the voluntary Program “Fountains: A Cultural-Social and Environmental Life Path” related to the promotion of the inland. The project essentially referred to a community project to enliven and connect individuals and groups in matters of lifelong learning and culture with the ultimate goal of taking the initiative “from below” for the design and implementation of local development and social cohesion plans. It was implemented in the Municipality of Platanias of the Perfecture of Chania.
Chania Lyceum Club of Greek Women participated in the “MELINA: Education and Culture” Program of the Ministry of Culture which aimed to highlight the Cultural dimension in education. The file prepared by the Lyceum of Chania “ONE CITY-ONE ERA: Chania Early 20th Century-The European influence on Clothing and housing” was based on the Urban Style of the Lyceum, and aims to enable the teacher to utilize multifaceted and cross-curricular the Lyceum material, in order to guide the child-recipient in the knowledge of local History, with field research and to activate his observation and senses with creative participation.
